Frame and Cushion Construction
HIGH-END FRAME using TRADITIONAL QUALITY - CLICK TO VIEW
The internal frame is made up of 1 1/4" select kiln-dried hardwood lumber (oak, ash, poplar or maple). All frame joints are double doweled, glued and secured for lasting strength. This is the traditional high-end, hand-made, construction story that many people are familiar with. All exposed woods are maple wood, sanded, filled, stained and finished with two coats of high sheen lacquer to enhance the wood grain. There are various finish colors from which to choose.
SEATING SYSTEM -
It starts with heat-tempered steel coil springs under the cushions, secured to the seat bottom and each other using the time-honored, true 8-way hand-tying allowing for a comfortable seat (ride) and durability. This traditional high-end construction method stabilizes the coil springs and causes the entire spring set to work in unison.
CUSHIONS -
Above the 8-way spring system is a cushion using high resiliency foam core (using no harmful environmental agents) providing durability, support and comfort. This core is wrapped in a generous soft layer of polyester fiber and encased in a down-proof cover that is channeled and filled with a special fiber blend. This cushion is inserted into a zippered leather case. This provides a comfortable, long lasting and sharp looking seat that keeps its shape for years to come. An optional cushion that includes down will provide more plush seating with a higher crown. The construction is the same as above, except the channeled down-proof cover is filled with 90% waterfowl duck and 10% polyester fiber blend. Most of the styles offered have a down blend option. Like the seat cushions, all back cushions are made according to the style of the furniture piece. All are filled with hand-cut fibers in a channeled back (preventing vertical drift), then inserted into a zippered leather cover. All are hand made to ensure a maximum level of comfort and provide a look that keeps its tailored shape.
