Recliner Frame Construction
The seating used for Comfort Design recliners is designed to be the best in the furniture industry. Everything from Comfort Design is made in America. One and a quarter inch (1.25") kiln-dried hardwood is used for all hand-made furniture frames and they are glued, screwed, double doweled and corner blocked for increased stability and durability. In addition, on all recliners we use steel to tie the frames together, ensuring strength and support. Steel seat boxings with sinuous "No Sag" steel springs are used to ensure the long life of our springing system on all recliners. These are anchored front to back to the frame and covered with layers of foam, padding then topped with finishing materials.
All "push on the arm" activated reclining mechanisms include a steel chassis plate (underneath the steel springs) to ensure a rock solid steady chair - one that will not wiggle or sway. All reclining mechanisms are made in the USA, not just assembled in the USA. See the cushion information for details on our quality made cushions.

Underneath the steel springs is an anchored steel chassis plate. This ensures that the recliner will be rock solid and will not wiggle or sway. This is standard on all push on the arm recliners. |
