Frame Construction
The seating used for Comfort Design furniture is designed to be the best in the furniture industry. Everything from Comfort Design is made in America. 5-layered hardwood is used for all handmade furniture frames with Mortis & Tenon glued joint construction with corners that are blocked and screwed for increased stability and durability. Steel seat boxings with sinuous "No Sag" steel springs are used to ensure the long life of the springing system. These are anchored front to back to the frame and then covered with layers of foam and padding then topped with finishing materials.
All reclining seats have a reclining mechanism that includes a steel chassis square plate (underneath the steel springs) to ensure a rock solid steady chair - one that will not wiggle or sway. All reclining mechanisms are made in the USA, not just assembled in the USA. See the cushion information for details on the quality made cushions.
